Camelot Touch Rugby –
The Jesters
Camelot Touch Rugby takes place every Monday evening throughout the year (Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter). Touch Monday is open to all age groups (18 to 70+) and all abilities from complete novice, current players to ex-rugby players who may have hung their boots up for whatever reason. Touch runs from 19.00 to 20.30 every Monday.
Changing rooms and showers are available and the clubhouse is open afterwards serving food and drink at the bar. If interested pop down one Monday evening to see what it is all about.
what is touch rugby?
Touch rugby is a fast, fun, and inclusive version of rugby that’s played across the UK by people of all ages and abilities. Instead of tackles, a simple touch replaces contact, making the game safer, more accessible, and easy to pick up—whether you’ve never played rugby before or you’re a lifelong fan.
The game keeps everything people love about rugby: teamwork, passing skills, movement, and game awareness. It’s mixed-gender by design, so men and women play together on equal terms, creating a social, welcoming environment both on and off the pitch.
who can play?
Pretty much anyone. Touch rugby is played by juniors, students, adults, and veterans, with opportunities ranging from casual social sessions to competitive leagues and national teams. Fitness levels vary too—some people come for a relaxed run-around, others train hard and compete nationally or internationally.
how does it link to traditional rugby?
Touch rugby is closely connected to the wider rugby family. It’s a great entry point for new players who want to learn core rugby skills in a non-contact setting, and it’s also used by union and league players to improve fitness, handling, decision-making, and game understanding. Many players move between touch and contact rugby, while others enjoy touch as their main sport.
